The Oakridge baseball team gained two important West Michigan Conference victories with a 2-1 and 8-2 doubleheader sweep oflsj-fb-logo North Muskegon on Saturday.

Game 1 was a pitcher’s dual between Oakridge’s Jaegar Beattie and North Muskegon’s Erick Bleakley. Each pitcher only gave up three hits, but it was the two-run fifth inning that ended up being the difference for the Eagles.

Beattie had a hit and a run, and Brady Luttrull knocked in Austin Byers, which would prove to be the winning run.

In Game 2, five walks, four hit batters and four walks helped the Eagles gradually pull away. Kolin Chahorski and Logan Layman each crossed the plate twice to lead Oakridge to victory.

Bleakley went 3-for-3 for North Muskegon in the nightcap.
