Dominating pitching carried Muskegon Oakridge (5-0 overall) to a sweep over non-conference foe Coopersville on Thursday, 4-1 and 10-0. lsj-fb-logo

Kayla Fessenden was the winning pitcher in Game 1 with nine strikeouts and only three hits allowed. Sophia Wiard, Alyssa Fessenden, Hannah Reinhold and Kayla Fessenden each had two hits.

In the nightcap, Alyssa Fessenden fanned four and allowed three hits oveer five innings of work.

The Eagles’ big blast at the plate came from Kaylie Piper, who drilled a three-run home run to end the game in the fifth due to the mercy rule.
