The Spring Lake softball team picked up a doubleheader sweep, 8-4 and 16-15, against Zeeland West on Monday.

LSJ Logo incertIn Game 1 Lakers’ pitcher Leah Vaughan improved to 3-0 on the season after getting the win on the mound.

Katie Mumby and Kileah Rymal each had two hits for Spring Lake while Jenna Core added a two-run homer.

In Game 2 the Lakers watched their early 10-run lead disintegrate, but held on in the end.

Madelyn Nelson led the way with four hits and four runs, while Vaughan and Mumby chipped in with four RBIs apiece to help pitcher Lauren Somers improve to 3-0 on the season.

The Lakers are now 6-0 on the season.
