The Whitehall baseball team shut down Shelby in a doubleheader, 10-0 and 13-0, in a West Michigan Conference game on Tuesday.lsj-fb-logo

The Vikings are now 8-2 on the season and 7-1 in league play, while Shelby falls to 1-7 in conference games.

In Game 1 the Vikings were led by Daniel DuBois and Tylor Russell, who each had three hits and scored two runs.  Casey Huizenga picked up the win on the mound, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out six batters in five innings.

The Tigers were paced by Kris Josephson with a double.

In Game 2 DuBois and Nolan Throne led Whitehall with three hits apiece while Alec Milliron chipped in with two hits.

Vikings pitcher Ben VanSumeren allowed no runs on six hits while striking out five batters in six innings.

Shelby was led by Walker Barrs with two hits.
