The Muskegon Risers are preparing to kick off their second season of professional soccer with three straight road games – including one in Grand Rapids at Houseman Field.LSJ Logo incert

But after the initial road trip is over, the Risers will settle in for a long summer of eight straight home games between May 28 and July 23.risers logo

The Risers, an independent team that does not play a league schedule, will kick off their 12-game season Saturday night on the road against Detroit City FC. The game will be played at Hurley Field in Detroit

Muskegon will visit Grand Rapids FC on May 14 at 7:45 p.m. at Houseman Field, in a renewal of an intense rivalry that began last season. The Risers won both games of a home-and-home series with Grand Rapids in 2015, but Saturday’s game will be the only matchup between the two clubs this year.

The Risers will visit Oakland County FC on May 21, before playing their first home game against CKS Warta, an Illinois-based club, on May 28 at 6 p.m.

Home games will again be played at Reeths-Puffer High School on Saturdays at 6 p.m.

Several thousand tickets for the game in Grand Rapids are available on the Risers’ website – MuskegonRisers.com. Season tickets can also be purchased on the site for $39.
