The Whitecaps took a 2-0 lead in the third inning on an RBI single by Will Allen.

Wisconsin answered with its lone run in the fifth frame with an RBI single by Luis Aviles.

West Michigan added an insurance run in the seventh with an RBI single by Rashad Brown, scoring David Gonzalez, who led off the frame with a double.

Whitecaps starting pitcher Matt Hall had a strong outing, throwing six innings of five-hit baseball.
