Will Allen paced the Whitecaps with two hits and the lone RBI when he brought in David Gonzalez with a double in the fourth inning.

The Whitecaps held a 1-0 lead until the sixth inning when Lansing tied the game at 1-1, then scored three runs in the seventh inning to take a commanding 4-1 lead.

Lansing added an insurance run in the eight to extend its lead to 5-1..

Gonzalez also had two hits on the night for West Michigan, while Brett Pirtle and Arvicent Perez had one hit each.

Before the game on Thursday, Whitecap pitchers Matt Hall and Gerson Moreno were called up to the Lakeland Flying Tigers, while pitcher Eudis Idrogo was activated from the disabled list.
