Tigers 8, White Sox 4 – The Tigers started the day by calling up prospect outfielder JaCoby Jones to play in his first Major League Baseball game on Tuesday night against the Chicago White Sox.

LSJ Logo incertJones helped the Tigers by knocking in two runs to lead Detroit to a win over the White Sox.

Detroit has won the first two games of the series against Chicago, after defeating the White Sox on Monday night 4-3 on an eighth inning home run by Jarrod Saltalamacchia.

On Tuesday night, the Tigers overcame a 3-0 deficit by scoring two runs in the fifth and four in the sixth to take a 6-3 advantage.

Ian Kinsler added two hits and four RBIs for the Tigers while J.D. Martinez chipped in with three hits, two runs and an RBI.

Detroit’s starting pitcher Daniel Norris took a no-decision, allowing three runs on six hits in five innings.

Tigers’ reliever Bruce Rondon tossed a scoreless sixth inning to pick up the victory.

Chicago was led by Adam Eaton with two hits and an RBI while Todd Frazier hit a two-run homer.

The Tigers are now 71-61 on the season, good for second place in the American League Central Division behind the Cleveland Indians. They are one game back of the Baltimore Orioles for the final playoff spot.

Detroit will look to sweep the White Sox with a win on Wednesday afternoon.
