The victory pushes the Jayhawks’ season record to 3-0-1.

The Jayhawks jumped out a commanding lead with goals by Miguel Flores, Jube Rodriguez and Eddie Mireles.

Jackson cut its deficit to 3-1, but MCC answered with another goal by Mireles, a freshman. But the Jets made the Jayhawks sweat by tacking on two more scores to make it a 4-3 contest.

However Jayhawks goalie Ben Fales made two critical saves in the final minute to keep the Jayhawks in front.

MCC returns to action on Sept. 7 against Schoolcraft Community College. Game time is 4 p.m. at Mona Shores High School.
