Tigers 6, Indians 3 (5 inn.) – Miguel Cabrera’s three-run home run in the fifth inning propelled the Tigers to a victory over the Cleveland Indians on a soggy Wednesday night in Detroit.

LSJ Logo incertThe game was called and made official after five innings during the second rain delay of the evening.

The Tigers, who are now 85-73 with four games remaining, still trail the Baltimore Orioles for the final playoff spot by one game.

Cleveland opened the scoring in the first inning on an RBI double by Carlos Santana to give the Indians a 1-0 lead.Eye on the D

Detroit responded with three runs in the third inning after a 45-minute rain delay.

Jose Iglesias knocked in a run with a double, then Ian Kinsler blasted a two-run home run to give the Tigers a 3-1 advantage after three innings.

The Indians tied the game 3-3 on RBI singles by Rajai Davis and Santana in the fourth inning.

Cabrera’s homer ended the scoring in the fifth after another rain delay led to the game being called official.

Detroit will finish its final home stand on Thursday afternoon against the Indians.
