Tigers 8, Twins 1 – The Tigers jumped out to an easy win over the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night to pick up their second straight victory.

LSJ Logo incertDetroit’s starting pitcher Matt Boyd tossed eight innings allowing one run on three hits while striking out seven batters.

Miguel Cabrera and Cameron Maybin paced the Tigers with two hits a piece while James McCann knocked in three runs.

The Tigers scored the first eight runs of the contest, scoring one in the third and fourth innings, four in the sixth and two in the seventh.

The Twins were held to just three hits throughout the game.

The Tigers are now 80-70 on the season and are a game and a half behind the Baltimore Orioles for the final playoff spot with 12 games remaining.

Detroit will look to continue its winning streak on Wednesday night against the Twins.
