Fruitport wins its first O-K Black game in football, beating GR Union 63-46

The Fruitport Trojans earned their first ever O-K Black Conference victory Friday against  Grand Rapids Union, 63-46.

LSJ Logo incertFruitport never trailed in the contest and scored eight touchdowns on its first nine possessions.

Levi Six led the way for the Trojans with 203 rushing yards on 12 attempts, Sport Clips logo on across the top football photo artaccounting for four touchdowns.

Six had four carries over 20-yards and two carries of more than 40-yards, including a 50-yard run.

The Trojans opened the scoring on a 51-yard interception return by Connor Schuitema to give Fruitport 7-0 lead.

GR Union cut its deficit to 7-6, then Fruitport battled to a 30-26 halftime edge.

Fruitport took control by outscoring Union 28-6 in the third quarter.

Bailey Lynn rushed for 78 yards for the Trojans and scored two touchdowns. Wyatt Kendra ran for one touchdown for the hosts.

Fruitport quarterback Connor Routt completed three of six passes for 51 yards.
