Hesperia’s varsity volleyball team outlasted Lakeview in a hard-fought Central State Activities Association Silver Division match Wednesday. 
In the deciding fifth set, the Panthers edged the Wildcats, 15-11, to earn the 3-2 victory. Hesperia dropped the first set, 25-20, but rebounded with wins in the second and third, 25-18 and 25-16. Lakeview then tied the match with a win in the fourth set, 25-18.
Hesperia had three big contributors at the net, with Alyssa Miller with 12 kills, and Ally Bayle and Delaney Hussey with 11 apiece. Bayle led the Panthers with three blocks, while Miller was tops in digs with 19.
Ceara Thomas contributed 10 digs, 23 assists and five aces, while Bayle served up four aces.
