OV opened the scoring on an eight-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Sam Mitchell to Cameron Williams to give the Cardinals a 6-0 halftime lead.

The Cardinals increased their lead to 12-0 on an 85-yard kick return by Treshawn Kelly.

Reeths-Puffer finally lit up the scoreboard during the fourth quarter on a 12-yard run from Nate McCrary to cut its deficit to 12-7.

OV struck right back with a 62-yard connection from Mitchell to Kelly to take a 19-7 lead.

The Rockets closed out the contest strong, scoring the final 15 points of the game on an 85-yard kickoff return by McCrary with 9:39 remaining and a 71-yard touchdown catch by McCrary with 2:07 left.

McCrary led the Rockets with 85 yards on 19 carries and 71 yards receiving on one catch. Theo Stevenson led RP’s defense with nine tackles.

Orchard View was led by Mitchell with 95 yards passing and two touchdowns. Jayden Day led the defense with five tackles.

“We’ve had two close games in a row and I’m real proud of my kids for  growing together,” said Reeths-Puffer Coach Kyle Jewett. “We didn’t play real well but my hat is off to Orchard View.”
