Whitehall scores 29 unanswered second-half points to beat Mason County Central

The Whitehall football squad scored 22 fourth quarter points to pull away from Mason County Central 43-7 on Friday night in a West Michigan Conference contest.

Whitehall added a touchdown in the third quarter to take a 21-7 Sport Clips 2016 football adadvantage  before outscoring the Spartans by a 22-0 margin in the fourth.

Vikings quarterback Casey Huizenga threw for 68 yards on 4-for-11 passing with two touchdowns, and rushed for 59 yards on 17 carries while scoring three touchdowns.

JoJo Dowell led Whitehall with 194 rushing yards on 17 carries and a touchdown, while wide out Justin Brown caught two passes for 59 yards and two touchdowns.

The Vikings defense was led by Brown, Jack MacArthur and Derek McCollom with five tackles apiece. Brown also chipped in with an interception.

Whitehall improved to 3-0 on the season and is 2-0 in West Michigan Conference play. Mason County Central fell to 2-1 and 1-1 in the conference.
