Lions 24, Eagles 23 – The Lions snapped their three-game losing streak, defeating the previously unbeaten Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon.

LSJ Logo incertDetroit led 14-0 after the first quarter, 21-10 at halftime and had a 21-20 advantage after three quarters.

Lions’ kick Matt Prater nailed the game-winning 29-yard field goal with 1:28 left in regulation.

Detroit’s cornerback Darius Slay forced a fumble at the Eagles 45 yard-line with just over two minutes left to set up the game-winning score.Eye on the D

Slay helped ice the victory for the Lions with an interception to end Philadelphia’s shot of a comeback win.

The Lions were led by quarterback Matthew Stafford with 180 yards passing on 19 completions and three touchdowns. Running back Theo Riddick caught two touchdown passes for Detroit while Marvin Jones Jr. scored once on a catch.

Detroit’s defense was paced by Tahir Whitehead with 12 tackles.

The Eagles were led in a losing effort by rookie quarterback Carson Wentz with 238 passing yards and two touchdowns.

The Lions, who are now 2-3 on the season, will host the Los Angeles Rams next Sunday at home.
