The Muskegon Community College volleyball team completed a successful regular season Thursday by going on the road and beatingLSJ Logo incert Ancilla College 3-1.

The set scores were 25-22, 22-25, 26-24, 27-25.

Rachel Brown led the Jayhawks with 16 kills, Lindsey Jacobs had 48 assists, Marissa Hassevoort had 20 digs, Alysia Folkersma had five blocks and Sammi Hockstra served up five aces.

MCC finished the regular season with a 27-10 overall record and a 14-2 mark in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association’s Western Conference.

The team finished in second place in the conference, two games behind champion Grand Rapids Community College.

The Jayhawks qualified for the postseason District E tournament, along with seven other teams from the MCCAA. They will host the Nov. 4-6 tournament, which will take place at Reeths-Puffer High School and Bartels-Rode Gymnasium at MCC.
