The Muskegon Community College women’s soccer team split a pair of games over the weekend, defeating Ancilla College on Saturday 2-1 and losing to Delta College on Sunday 2-0.
On Saturday, Alyssa Benedict scored first for the Jayhawks with assists from Racheal Darwin and Lauren Maus. Darwin finished off the scoring by converting on a penalty kick just before halftime.
Micky Wall and Madison Blackwell split time in goal for the Jayhawks.
Saturday’s win clinched a berth for the Jayhawks in the NJCAA Region 12 tournament for the second season in a row.
The Jayhawks will host Cincinnati on Saturday in the final home game of the season.
