Gonzalez leads Whitehall to a Division 3 district win over Newaygo in soccer

The Whitehall soccer team cruised past Newaygo 5-1 on Monday night in a Division 3 district first round game.

The Vikings, who led 3-1 at halftime, were paced by Joshua Gonzalez with two goals and two assists.

Logan Diehm, Lucas Schumm and Kelson Bluhm each added a goal for Whitehall, while Noah Smith, David Caicedo and Bluhm chipped in with an assist apiece.

The Vikings will face Shelby on Wednesday in a Division 3 district semifinal game at Hart High School.
