The Ludington volleyball team won the Lakes 8 Conference tournament on Saturday.

LSJ Logo incertThe Orioles cruised past Muskegon Catholic in the final match in a four set win to claim the league title.

Ludington topped the Crusaders by winning the first two sets 25-13 and 25-10, losing 25-22 during the third stanza, then winning the fourth set 25-16.

The Crusaders, who finished in second-place, defeated Muskegon Heights in two straight sets and Western Michigan Christian 2-1 before losing to Ludington in the final set.

Muskegon Catholic was paced by Zoie Price with 33 kills and three blocks while Abby Zelenka had 13 digs and 15 aces.

Lauren Doriot chipped in with 12 kills and 10 digs for MCC and Amelia Heminger had 63 assists.

The Warriors ended the tournament in third place after losing to Muskegon Catholic and defeating Orchard View by service scores of 25-16 and 25-18.

Cassie Kingma paced WMC with 17 kills, four blocks and 16 digs, while Anna Sytsema had 17 digs and six blocks.

WMC’s Haylee Moser chipped in with 12 digs.
