The North Muskegon football squad blanked Hart 49-0 in a West Michigan Conference game on Friday night.

LSJ Logo incertThe Norse jumped out to 21-0 lead after the first quarter, led 35-0 at halftime before scoring 14 second half points to close out the scoring.

North Muskegon had a total of 296 yards of offense, led by running back Chandler Edwards with 102 yards on four carries.

Mack Young and Jesse Cook each threw for a Norse touchdown while Vernonell Smith added 89 rushing yards on four carries.

The Norse defense was led by Thomas Montgomery with eight tackles while Andrew Butzlow had five.

Edwards, Anthony Oviedo and Riley Fairfield each chipped in with 4.5 tackles apiece for North Muskegon.

Hart’s quarterback Cameron Tanner went 9-for-23 passing, throwing two interceptions while also rushing for 52 yards.

Pitrates’ receiver Saul Aguilar-Salgado had three receptions for 39 yards, while Michael Michalko had three tackles for the Hart defense.

The Norse improved their record to 4-4 on the season while Hart dropped its record to 1-7 on the year.
