The North Muskegon football squad finished its season in grand fashion with a 73-0 shutout win over Holton in a non-league game on Friday night.

Nine different North Muskegon players found the end zone.

Thomas Montgomery and Vernonell Smith each had rushing touchdowns for the Norse in the first quarter to go along with a one-yard scoring pass from Jesse Cooke to Montgomery.

North Muskegon kicker Justice Sikkema nailed a school record 48-yard field goal late in the first quarter to push the Norse lead to 24-0.

Cameron Waller, Riley Fairfield, Chase Edwards and Montgomery all added rushing touchdowns in the second quarter to put North Muskegon up 52-0 at halftime.

Freshman Stephan Smith chipped in with a 64-yard touchdown run in the second half. Jon Hayhurst added a five-yard touchdown scamper and a De’Shary Warren had a 33-yard rushing touchdown to close out the scoring.

Sikkema finished the night with 13 points for North Muskegon on one field goal and 10 extra points.

The Norse’s defense was paced by Jacob Achterhoff and Edwards with five tackles each.

Holton finishes its season with a 2-7 record.
