Shelby’s varsity boys soccer team defeated Mason County Central 8-0 in the first round of the West Michigan Conference tournament on Wednesday. 
Fernando Cabraera led the Tigers with two goals and two assists. Spencer Brown, Joe Kerjses, Nick Eisenlohr, Connor Zaverl, Carlos Avilez, and Thomas Carey each scored a goal a piece. Ryan Rabe assisted on three goals.
Shelby goalkeeper Jonah Kelley recorded the shutout.
The Tigers (13-1-1 overall, 5-1-1 conference) move onto the second round of the WMC tournament where they will play the winner of Montague/Whitehall on Monday.
