The Spring Lake and Whitehall golf teams are headed to the state finals after finishing first and second in the Division 3 regional at White Lake Golf Course Wednesday.
Spring Lake, the defending back-to-back Division 3 state champions, won the regional with a total of 348, while Whitehall finished second with a total of 404.
Anna Kramer of Spring Lake led all golfers on the day with a round of 80, while teammates Madelyn Nelson and Jaedyn Shelton tied for second place with 87 strokes. Rounding out the Lakers scorers were Jackie Olszewski, who finished sixth with a 94 and sophomore Hannah Klein with a 98.
Whitehall was led by Taylor Mikkelson, who came in fourth overall with a 92, while teammate Brooke Borgman finished sixth overall with a 94. Rounding out the Whitehall team was freshman Rylee Woodring with a 104, Jessica McFarland with a 114, and Leeanna Burns with a 115.
Both Whitehall and Spring Lake will next play in the Division 3 state
finals at Bedford Valley in Battle Creek on October 14 and 15.
