The set scores were 25-17, 25-20 and 25-19.

The Tigers have now won three championships this season – the CSAA Gold Division title along with Class B district and regionals titles.

Grant, 50-10-1 on the season, advances to Tuesday’s state quarterfinals against Buchanan at Hudsonville Unity Christian High School at 7 p.m.

The winner will move on to next Thursday’s semifinals in Battle Creek, against the survivor of the St. Clair Shores South Lake/North Branch quarterfinal.

“The girls have worked so hard for this,” said Grant Coach Tricia Schuitema. “Being district champions for six years in a row has been amazing, but this team was so hungry for a regional title. I can’t say enough about how blessed I am to coach a group of girls who are athletic, skilled, hard-working, coachable, and great teammates.”

Laura Bouwkamp paced Grant with 11 kills and 13 digs while Kylie Patton had eight kills.

Sierra Schuitema added seven kills, 30 assists, six service aces and six digs; Ashley Herin had 13 digs; Olivia Keelean had six kills and 15 digs; and Taylor Wegener had 13 digs.
