Jayhawks men gain a pair of victories over Hope JV, St. Clair Community College

The Muskegon Community College men’s basketball team had a busy week and came away with a pair of big victories on Wednesday and Thursday.

On Wednesday the Jayhawks downed the Hope College JV squad 77-67. MCC jumped out to a 20-9 lead and had a 42-29 advantage at halftime

Ricarri Stimage led the Jayhawks with 23 points and four assists. Daryl Kirkland added 16 points and seven rebounds while Sergio Diaz and Michael Williams each had 13 points and eight rebounds.

On Thursday, the Jayhawks overcame cold shooting in the first half to pull out a 75-71 victory over St. Clair Community College.

Freshman Isreal Williams hit his only field goal of the game with less than two minutes to play to put MCC up for good. Stimage made three free throws down the stretch to ice the victory.

Stimage led the Jayhawks with 21 points, Blake Andrews added 19 while Kirkland had 15 points and 11 rebounds.

The Jayhawks are now 3-1 on the season.
