Three players scored in double figures as the Muskegon Catholic girls basketball team picked up a 49-34 non-conference win over Grand River Prep on Tuesday night.

The Crusaders (2-0) used a 17-5 advantage in the third quarter to pull away.

Hannah Ladd scored 12 points to lead MCC, while Isabelle Bertolone had 11. Emily Rauch notched a double-double with 10 points and 18 rebounds. Lauren Doriot added seven points and 10 boards for the Crusaders.

KENT CITY 41, COOPERSVILLE 36 – The Eagles outscored Coopersville 14-9 during the fourth quarter. Zara Webber led Kent City with 13 points while Teanna McCuaig added 11.

HOLTON 41, NEWAYGO 29 – The Red Devils took control by outscoring Newaygo 14-7 in the first quarter and 31-18 in the first half. Courtney Slater paced Holton with 10 points, 12 rebounds and five assists while Mikaela Baker had 10 points. Kylee Chelsey had 18 points for the Lions.

MASON COUNTRY CENTRAL 42, FRUITPORT CALVARY CHRISTIAN 41 – The Eagles suffered their first loss of the season in heartbreaking fashion to the Spartans. Rachel Allen led the MCC with 15 points, while Kosiboski added nine. Allyson Richards paced the Eagles with 16 points and 13 rebounds while Kelsey Richards scored 12 points and Lexy Wilson added seven points and 12 rebounds.

CALVIN CHRISTIAN 72, WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 66 – The Warriors fell to Calvin Christian in overtime. WMC was led by Harlie Hubers 22 points while Aubrey Goorman added 21 points and 13 rebounds.
