The Holton boys basketball squad opened its season with a 56-51 non-league win over Fruitport on Wednesday night.

Holton led 12-10 after the first quarter, had a 28-17 halftime lead and a 45-33 advantage going into the fourth quarter.

The Trojans outscored Holton 18-11 during the fourth quarter but Holton held on for the victory.

The Red Devils were paced by Jacob Tanner and Kevin Slowik with 16 points apiece while Dalton Giddings added eight rebounds. Kyle Wildfong chipped in with five rebounds for Holton.
