The Fremont boys basketball team withstood a furious Whitehall comeback in the fourth quarter and escaped with a 55-48 victory in non-league action on Tuesday.

The Packers led 43-24 after three quarters, then Whitehall went on a 24-12 run in the fourth to make it close.

Ryan Geeting had 21 points for Fremont, which improved to 7-4 on the season. Andrew Young scored 18 points for Whitehall, which fell to 8-2.

CEDAR SPRINGS 56, KENT CITY 51 – With the score 54-51 in favor of Cedar Springs, an open three-point attempt with one second remaining was missed by the Eagles. Cedar Springs came down with the rebound and put the finishing touches on the win with two free throws. Kent City (7-3, 4-1) was led on the night by Fraser Wilson with 19 points and Jace Dailey with 12 points.
