The Grand Haven boys basketball team overcame a first-quarter deficit to pull out a 49-43 victory over Hudsonville in O-K Red Conference play on Friday.

Grand Haven broke a two-game conference losing streak and improved to 8-3 overall and 2-2 in the league. Hudsonville dropped to 6-5 overall and 2-3 in the league.

The Bucs trailed 16-12 after one quarter and led 32-30 at halftime, before extending their lead to as much as nine points in the final minute.

Zac Holman had 14 points for Grand Haven while Ross Koella, who had several big buckets in the fourth quarter, finished with 10.

WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 49, ORCHARD VIEW 42 – The Warriors (3-6, 1-2) held the Cardinals to 11 points in the first half. Garrett Kraker paced WMC with 12 points while Evan Fles added 10.

LUDINGTON 69, MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 43 – The Orioles grabbed a 20-3 lead after one quarter, all but wrapping the game up. They improved to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in Lakes 8 Conference play. Calvin Hackert finished with 15 points and six assists while Sam Laduke had 15 points and four assists. Josh Laman also raked in 10 rebounds for the Orioles. AJ Johnson led MCC (4-5, 3-2) with 10 points, six rebounds and five assists.

GRAND RAPIDS UNION 100, FRUITPORT 18 – Cameron Oleen led Fruitport (0-7, 0-3) with 11 points on the night.
