The Muskegon Catholic girls basketball team outlasted a furious Orchard View comeback, holding on to a 43-38 win on Friday night in Lakes 8 Conference action.

The Crusaders (4-4, 2-2) led 32-11 at the half.

The Cardinals (0-7, 0-2) went on a 13-2 third quarter run to cut their deficit to 10 points heading into the fourth quarter.

Orchard View managed to cut its deficit to five points in the fourth quarter but could not complete the comeback.

The Crusaders were paced by Talia Tyler with 27 points, four assists and eight steals, while Isabelle Bertolone added nine points.

The Cardinals were led by Janaya Ferrell with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 57, MUSKEGON HEIGHTS 40 – Aubrey Goorman led the Warriors (6-5, 2-2) with 29 points and 15 rebounds while Jakayla Anderson paced the Tigers (3-5, 0-1) with 21 points.

LUDINGTON 41, MANISTEE 37 – The Orioles improved to 6-2 overall and 3-0 in league play. Jenna Keson led the way with 17 points for Ludington while Bethany Shay scored nine to go along with a team-high 11 rebounds and five steals.

O-K BLUE

SPRING LAKE 44, SPARTA 33 – The Lakers improved to 2-4 on the season and 2-1 in O-K Blue conference play. Reiko Johnson led the Lakers with 22 points.
