The Mona Shores co-op boys swim team had four first-place finishes and six swimmers turn in personal best times, but it wasn’t enough to defeat a talented Grand Rapids Union squad in a 81-62 final on Thursday.

The Sailors were led by Caiden Morin in the 200-yard freestyle, who won in a time of 2 minutes, 24.58 seconds. Morin also swam a leg in the victorious 200 freestyle relay, joining Tommy Cotner, Pablo Sanz and Parker Reynolds. They finished in 2:02.09.

Max Harz captured first in the 100 backstroke (1:20.25), while Cotner’s 228.50 points in diving was also good for a first-place showing.

Cotner placed second in the 50 freestyle, and also was a member of the 200 medley relay that placed second.
