Jenny Beckman led the Shelby girls basketball team over Montague 56-46 on Friday night in a West Michigan Conference game.

Beckman posted a game-high 25 points for the Tigers, who improve to 7-3 on the season and 5-1 in league play.

The Tigers led 20-16 after the first quarter, 37-28 at halftime and had a 48-38 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.

Shelby’s Jaren Smith added 12 points.

Montague (4-4, 3-2) was led by Claudia Rumsey with 16 points on the night.

NORTH MUSKEGON 41, HART 27 – The Norse (2-7, 2-4) jumped out to an 11-3 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. Kayla Mulder scored nine points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead North Muskegon while Mya Duncan added nine points. Nichole Rockwell led Hart with 11 points.

OAKRIDGE 45, WHITEHALL 26 – A strong 20-9 fourth quarter advantage helped the Eagles pull away in a West Michigan Conference game. Hannah Reinhold led the Eagles (8-2, 6-0) with 17 points while Sophia Wiard added 14 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and six steals. The Vikings (2-6, 1-4) were paced by Julie Brown with 11 points and 14 rebounds.

MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 50, RAVENNA 15 – The Bulldogs (0-7, 0-5) struggled offensively in a West Michigan Conference contest on Friday night. Ravenna was held scoreless throughout the first quarter.
