The Whitehall girls basketball team used a strong first quarter to grab a 46-28 victory over Ravenna in West Michigan Conference action on Friday.

Whitehall (6-7, 4-5) had five steals in the opening minutes and jumped out to an 18-6 lead after one.

Kacy Jeffries led the Vikings with 11 points. Julie Brown added 10 points and eight rebounds while Sierra Spann scored nine and grabbed nine boards.

Chloe Lemkie led Ravenna with 11 points.

MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 46, HART 38 – After trailing by 20 points heading into the final quarter, Hart mounted a ferocious comeback, cutting the Spartans’ lead to just four points before time ran out. Haley Alvesteffer led Hart with 11 points and Yasmine Colon added seven.

SHELBY 54, NORTH MUSKEGON 33 – Jaren Smith led the Tigers (11-3, 8-1) with 16 points while Jenny Beckman added 14 points. North Muskegon (2-8, 1-6) was led by Mya Duncan with 12 points.
