The Muskegon Community College women’s basketball squad fell short on Wednesday night, falling to Kalamazoo Valley CC 69-67 in a conference game.

The Jayhawks are now 16-5 on the season and 10-3 in league play, good for third place in the conference.

The game was tied 18-18 after the first quarter before the Jayhawks took a 37-30 lead at halftime. Kalamazoo Valley stormed back with a 21-12 third quarter run to take a 51-49 lead heading into the final stanza and held on for the victory.

Camaryia Williams paced MCC 19 points and 17 rebounds while Kalisa Williams added 19 points and 11 rebounds. Bailey Freeland chipped in with 14 points for the Jayhawks.

MCC will travel to face Glen Oaks Community College next Saturday afternoon.
