The Western Michigan Christian basketball team overcame an early 11-point deficit and defeated Muskegon Catholic 53-48 on Friday in Lakes 8 Conference action.

The Warriors, how 5-11 overall and 4-4 in the conference, trailed 17-6 after one quarter before rallying and stealing the victory.

Cameron Waller scored 23 points and grabbed five rebounds for WMC while Daniel Ray added eight points and six rebounds.

Nick Morgenstern scored a game-high 25 points to lead Muskegon Catholic.

ORCHARD VIEW 56, MANISTEE 48 – It was the Cam Williams show on Friday night, complete with dunks and lots of scoring, as he led the Cardinals to victory. Williams finished with 21 points on the night, while Edmari Mitchell scored 15 and Mattia Criscione snagged eight rebounds for Orchard View.

BIG RAPIDS 57, FR EMONT 54 (OT) – The Packers led the entire game until Big Rapids’ Christian Hecker hit a game-tying 3-pointer to send game to overtime. Ryan Geeting led Fremont (10-5, 7-3) with 18 points while Sam Kaastra added nine.

MORLEY-STANWOOD 52, HOLTON 33 – Holton came up short in a CSAA matchup Tuesday. Morley- Stanwood took 28-18 lead at the break and the Red Devils couldn’t overcome the deficit. Kevin Slowik scored 17 points for Holton, which fell to 8-8 overall and 2-6 in the conference.

HESPERIA 54, WHITE CLOUD 40 – Scott Peters paced the Panthers to their fourth victory of the season with 21 points and four steals. Kanin Witte added 17 points, seven assists and six rebounds for Hesperia, which improved to 4-11 overall and 3-5 in conference play.

KENT CITY 50, LAKEVIEW 49 – The Eagles survived a back-and-forth battle to capture a conference win against Lakeview Friday night. Kent City (11-4, 7-1) was a perfect 6-for-6 at the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to help seal the victory. Fraser Wilson scored 21 points to lead the Eagles while Jace Dailey added 12.
