The Muskegon Heights girls basketball squad stormed back from a 25-point deficit on Friday night, defeating Western Michigan Christian 67-59 in overtime during a Lakes 8 contest.

The Tigers, who are now 8-9 on the season and 3-2 in league play, trailed 21-8 after the first quarter and 33-18 at halftime.

Jakayla Anderson led the Tigers’ comeback with a game-high 27 points, including 17 during the second half and four in overtime.

Muskegon Heights also had a solid performance from Danasia Day with 14 points.

The Warriors (9-9, 3-4) were led by Anna Systema with 13 points and 10 rebounds while Harlie Hubers added 12 points. Cassie Kingma and Katelyn Wright each chipped in with 10 points for WMC.

MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 46, ORCHARD VIEW 41 – The Crusaders (8-10, 3-6) led from start to finish to bring home a Lakes 8 conference win on Friday. MCC led 13-6 after the first quarter, 22-16 at the half and 30-25 after three. Talia Tyler led the Crusaders with 16 points and four assists while Isabelle Bertalone added 10 points. Janaya Ferrell paced Orchard View (0-16) with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

LUDINGTON 60, MANISTEE 40 – The Orioles dominated the third quarter to pull away from Manistee on Friday. After trailing 27-23 at the half, Ludington outscored the Chippewas by an 18-3 margin during the third stanza. Ali Plamondon had 12 points and eight rebounds to lead Orioles, while Mackenzie Howe added 10 points and 10 rebounds. Jenna Keson chipped in with 10 points for Ludington.
