The Mona Shores girls basketball team wrapped upĀ at least a share of the O-K Black Conference championship on Tuesday with an easy 73-26 victory over Kenowa Hills.

Mona Shores got out of the gates with a 12-2 lead. The Knights clawed back and pulled within two points, 18-16, before the Sailors went on a 15-2 run and led 33-18 at halftime.

The Sailors pulled away with a 40-8 advantage in the second half.

Sophomore star Alyza Winston dropped 27 points for Mona Shores while Miss Basketball finalist Jordan Walker turned in 20 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. Nia Miskel added eight points and six steals for the Sailors.

Mona Shores, now 16-3 overall and 10-1 in the conference, can wrap up the league title with a victory at Grand Rapids Union on Friday night.
