Jacob Sposaro had three hits, including a pair of homers, to lead the Muskegon Community College baseball team to a season-opening 9-7 victory over the Keiser University JV on Monday in Florida.

MCC took a 6-0 lead in the second inning then hung on for the victory.

Pitcher Jacob Boes started and got the win for the Jayhawks, scattering five hits with seven strikeouts over six innings. Joe Huesing relieved and got the save.

Chad Makarewicz and Carson Hopman also homered for MCC while Ryan Fields had a pair of hits.

The Keiser squad turned the tables in the nightcap, beating the Jayhawks 14-4.

Mitchell Wilson had three hits while Makarewicz added two hits with a RBI for MCC.
