Whitehall wrestling squad dominates Ludington, Montague at home quad

Whitehall flexed its muscles with a pair of dominating victories at its home quad on Wednesday.

The Vikings routed Ludington 72-9, and blanked neighboring rival Montague, 76-0.

Winning twice during the evening for the Vikings included Josh Geisler (103 pounds); Sam Baustert (112); Hunter Bower (119); Haddan Young (125); Mitch White (130); Trenton Blanchard (135); Tom Balaskovitz (140); Josh Thommen (145); Allen Powers (152); Jojo Dowdell (160); Derek McCollom (171); and Jordin Patterson (285).

Going 1-1 for the Vikings were Kayleb Venema at 189 pounds and Jarean Sargent at 215.

Montague dropped its second match of the evening against Muskegon Catholic Central by a 36-29 final.  

Wildcat wrestlers who picked up a win against the Crusaders were Daniel Lipka (130), Matthew Lipka (135), Kenneth Vandersteilt (140), Brendan Kahl (171), and Alek Degen (215).

MCC wrestlers who were victorious against Montague included Ryder Smith (145), Nathaniel McKeown (152), James Jordan III (160), Adam Benoit (189), Brock Johnson (285), and Gabriel Flood (119).

The Crusaders also defeated Ludington at the meet by a 48-9 final.
