Colby Brown nets six goals in Spring Lake lacrosse win over Portage Central

Colby Brown led the Spring Lake lacrosse team to a 9-7 win over Portage Central on Saturday. Brown posted six goals in the Lakers’ first victory of the season.

The Lakers (1-1) jumped out with a 3-1 first quarter lead led by a Max White goal just 17 seconds into the game. Spring Lake led 4-2 at halftime and 6-4 going into the final quarter.

Dominic Molotyky also paced Spring Lake with a goal and an assist, Isiah Griswold posted three assists and Gavin Alban tallied a goal for the Lakers.

Spring Lake goalie Brant Verlinde posted the win with 10 saves.
