The Ludington boys basketball team overcame a slow start offensively to keep its season alive, defeating Clare 64-45 on Monday in a Class B regional semifinal game.

The Orioles, who improved their record to 22-2 on the season, failed to score until the four-minute mark of the first quarter.

Ludington rallied to gain a 7-5 advantage after the first quarter, extended its lead to 29-20 at halftime and led 53-36 at the end of the third stanza.

Jared Collins helped the Orioles pull away with back-to-back three-pointers to start the second half.

Sam LaDuke led Ludington with 16 points, while Noah Laman scored 14 and Calvin Hackert chipped in with 10.

Clare was led by Tyler Smith with 17 points.

The Orioles will face Gladstone (18-5) at Graying High School on Wednesday night in the Class B regional finals. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.
