The Muskegon Lumberjacks completed a great weekend out west on Saturday with a 2-0 victory over the Tri-City Storm at the Viaero Center in Kearney, Nebraska.

The Jacks ended up outscoring the Storm 11-1 on Friday and Saturday nights combined.

Adam Brizgala picked up the shutout in goal for the Lumberjacks on Saturday, stopping all 17 Tri-City shots.

Muskegon is now 33-17-4 on the season, good for 70 points in the USHL’s Eastern Conference.

The moved into second place in the conference, three points behind first-place Chicago and one point ahead of third-place Dubuque.

The Lumberjacks will return home for a four-game home stand, starting next weekend with games on Friday and Saturday against the Fargo Force.

The first period ended in a scoreless tie with the Lumberjacks outshooting Tri-City by a 13-7 margin.

Muskegon opened the scoring at the 4:48 mark of the second period on an unassisted goal from Andrei Svechnikov.

Austin Albrecht capped the scoring with his fourth goal of the weekend at 17:36 of the third period.
