The Muskegon Catholic girls basketball team defeated Kent City Algoma Christian 56-34 in a Class D district tournament semifinal contest on Wednesday.

The Crusaders led 15-11 after one quarter, then extended the lead to 27-17 at halftime and 44-32 at the end of three.

Talia Tyler led the way for MCC with 16 points, six steals and six assists. Hannah Ladd totaled 15 points and five assists while Zoie Price scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

MCC, now 9-12 on the season, will face Fruitport Calvary Christian in Friday’s championship game at 7 p.m. at Fruitport Calvary Christian High School.
