The West Michigan Lake Hawks’ 10-game winning streak and playoff run came to an end on Sunday night with 119-114 loss in Chicago.

West Michigan trailed the Steam 33-26 after the first quarter and 57-51 at halftime. The Lake Hawks managed to tie the score 89-89 entering the fourth quarter but again fell behind during the final stanza.

Lou Williams put the Lake Hawks to within one point of Chicago at 115-114 with 39 seconds left. Williams connected on two of three free throws but the Lake Hawks could get no closer.

Marquis Brewer led West Michigan with 21 points, Williams finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks while Xavier Kelling tallied a triple double with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.

West Michigan completes its season with a 21-6 record, a North Central Division title and two ABA all-star sections in Williams and Brewer. The pair will play in the ABA’s all-star game on April 20 in Richmond, Virginia.
