The Western Michigan Christian girls basketball tea, played stifling defense and came away with a 63-25 win over Ravenna in Class C district semifinal action on Wednesday. 

The Warriors did not allow more than 10 points in any quarter. They led 23-10 after one, 40-12 at halftime and 51-19 at the third buzzer.

Aubrey Goorman scored 18 points for WMC, setting the school’s single season scoring record along the way. Goorman also grabbed seven rebounds.

Cassie Kingma had 11 points and six assists for the Warriors, Katelyn Wright also scored 11 points and Anna Systema had 10.

WMC (13-9) advances to Friday’s district championship game against Kent City at 7 p.m. on its home court.
