Grant baseball team suffers two losses against Big Rapids in twin bill

The Grant baseball squad dropped both of its games in a doubleheader on Thursday against Big Rapids.

The Tigers were blanked in the opening game 6-0, then lost 10-5 in the nightcap.

In Game 1 Zach VanderWeide led Grant with a hit.

Spencer Naffziger suffered the loss on the mound, allowing three runs while striking out five batters in six innings.

In Game 2 the Tigers were paced by Casey Geers, Ian Francisco, Naffziger and VanderWeide with two hits apiece.

Gabe Castro took the loss in the nightcap, allowing six runs while striking out four batters in 4 2/3 innings.
