The Kent City softball team scored 36 runs in a doubleheaders weep of Hesperia in CSAA action on Friday.

The Eagles won the first game 15-3. Paige Mortensen led the way with three hits, including a three-run homer, and seven RBIs. She also pitched the victory, tossing a three-hitter in the five-inning game.

Megan Boyd had three singles for Kent City while Kassidy Heeringa contributed a single and double.

Kent City won the nightcap 21-5. They trailed 4-1 in the third inning before scoring 12 runs in the bottom of the third and eighth in the fourth.

Janelle Krueger pitched the victory while Boyd and Heeringa were 4-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs.

The Eagles improved to 12-3 overall and 7-3 in conference play.
