Pitcher Jake Boes tossed a compete-game five-hitter to lead the Muskegon Community College baseball team to a 6-5 victory over Grand Rapids Community College on Saturday.

The Jayhawks trailed 5-2 in the fifth inning, the scored twice in both the bottom of the fifth and sixth to steal the victory.

Colin McCelland had three hits, including a homer, and two RBIs for the Jayhawks. Carson Hopman had two hits, including a solo homer, and Nate Bonter had two hits and a stolen base.

MCC dropped the nightcap of the doubleheader 9-5.

Cade Cinterino took the loss on the mound despite having nine strikeouts.

McCelland had three more hits in the game, including two doubles, and knocked in two runs. Ryan Beadle added two hits and three RBIs and Bonter scored three runs.

MCC is now 23-21 overall and 12-10 in conference play.
