The Mona Shores baseball team swept a non-league doubleheader from Grand Rapids Catholic on Saturday, extending its winning streak to seven games.

The Sailors took the opener 5-2. Nick Debruin tossed a gem on the mound, scattering three hits and striking out three in seven innings. Freshman Ryan Gillings led the way with two hits and two RBIs while Jackson Neely scored two runs.

In Game 2, the Sailors scored eight runs in the seventh inning and won 16-2. Connor Belanger pitched the win, striking out three in six innings. Neely had a two-run homer, a triple and a double. Debruin, Matt martin and Kolbe Trovinger each added two hits for Mona Shores, which is now 12-7 on the season.
